FAQs from Coffee with the Principal 4/17/2020

Q:   When will school be back in session?

A:   At this time, there is no specified date for return.

Q:   Will there be summer school?

A:   Yes.  Summer school will be held online only.  More information will follow.

Q:  When do students return textbooks?

A:  Students should keep all textbooks, and plan to return them when school opens.

    Q:  I still need a laptop and/or a hotspot, how do I get one?

A:  Students can come to school every Friday from 10 AM - 12 PM to check out a laptop.  You may also request a hotspot.  Hotspot orders are submitted to the District and sent to the school.  You are then contacted to pick up once they arrive.

Q:  Are students supposed to be doing work in every class?

A:  Every teacher is responsible for providing support at least three times per week.  Students should be on Schoology daily to continue their studies?

    Q:  What if I can't reach my students teacher(s)?

A:  Please contact Dr. Thomas at emt0904@luasd.net for support.

Q:  What if my student has an upcoming IEP?

A:  You will be contacted by Mr. Winston.  You can also email him at erw3093@lausd.net.

Q:  Has College Board relaxed AP Exam and other exams?

A:  Although AP, ACT, and SAT exams will all most likely be online, there is no indication that these exams will be any less rigorous than usual.  Students should continue to study in preparation for the exams.

    Q.  How do I reach my students counselor?

    A.  You can email Mrs. Safotu at dbs2428@lausd.net for assistance.  All counselors are available during this time.

Q:  What will graduation look like?

A:  We are not sure.  Stay tuned.

Q: Will there be a prom?

A:  Senior prom has be rescheduled to July.  More info to follow.

Q:  Will grades be given at the end of the school year?

A:  Yes.  There is no Pass/Fail or incomplete.
